The Largo of Serdica
The ruins of the ancient Roman city of Serdica, are situated in the Sofia Metro under the so-called Sofia largo – the square between the Council of the Ministers and the Presidency. in Sofia. The project (2015) involves covering the wall just below the Council of Ministers, on the right side of Serdica's main street ( 340/3000 cm). Digital prints over the mirror panels, as mile stones, will commemorate important events from the ancient history of the present-day Bulgarian capital. The panels and print will be protected by one more transparent glass panel. The mirror plates reflecting the ruins from the opposite side of the ancient street will make the space much wider and symmetrical. The printed digital images will be superimposed on the background of the reflected ruins. The monumental images of Emperor Constantine the Great, Khan Krum, and Sebastocrator Kaloyan will add spiritual value to the site by reviving its past.
